Farang Village,, Premium Outlet Mall & Wat Phrathat Doi,

Started the day by going over to a friend of Sumanas house to uncover her furniture. They return from six months in London later today.  On the way we stopped at the market. There are markets everywhere. The streetscape is in constant motion with changing vendors and moving carts of food.

We stopped or lunch, chicken satays and a mango salad then went to the Premium outlet mall  - seriously, an outlet mall in Thailand! We walked around for about 20 minutes and apart from a few anchor stores like Adidas, Nike and Guess I did not recognize any of the other stores. Oh, a pair of crocs were 70 dollars CDN.

We actually took a rest in the afternoon as it was stinking hot. About five we drove up the mountain to a beautiful area where they have all kinds of foreign flowers like- impatience, tulips, geraniums ....typical north american/european flowers.

Wat Phrathat Doi Kham

There are two large wats on the mountain. This one, I had never been to before. It is huge and on a clear day you can see the whole city in a the distance.

Shirt from the mall - just snapped a quick picture!
The farang village mall is, like the name suggests, everything for a foreigner. So, the grocery store there is set up like any grocery store in North American and has all the ketchup, mustard, cake mixes you would see at home. There is a Starbucks and a dollar store - kind of, it is a Japanese plastic store. French Le crueset (SP) store, McDonalds ..... we briefly looked around - kind of funny that they actually call it the farang village!

Have a great Family Day for those of you in Ontario!
