Orchids & Temples & Thai Pot Luck

We went to the Flora Festival this morning, it is open for three months every year,  Dec - Feb. Countries from around the world put on displays of their flowers. Sadly, the only country represented by the Americas is Canada and our pavilion was empty. Perhaps Justin has not seen the memo yet or perhaps there are just too few of our flowers that would survive the heat here.

A small selection of the orchids: they were amazing!

A temple was built to celebrate the Kings birthday a few years ago, it faces the wat on the mountain that we went to last night, cost nineteen million baht to build..

Of course we stopped at the market on the way,Sumana is having a pot luck tonight, expecting twelve guests!

We set the table, kind of difficult to get a decent picture with all the light in here ....one lady celebrated her 61st birthday.

Terrible pic, but you get the idea, two huge lazy susan's all ready have food on them!

Birthday cake, kind of green grass icing!

Some random pics from the day.

inside the temple

Thai toilet humour!
