Had great plans for the day but my body and my mind did not quite get their act together and I ended up sleeping until 11:30. By the time I had breakfast and was ready to hit the mall it was way past noon.
I walked over to the Palace to see if the gold vending machine was up and running ...really just wanted to see what it spit out- bars, wafers or flakes. I thought I would just wait to see if some Sheikh came by with his platinum Am Ex card and snap a pic or two! No such luck.
I decided to walk to the mall and see about the hop on hop off bus but at the last minute just grabbed a cab. I walked around the mall - it is crazy, the number of malls all with the same high end stores ...guess between the tourists and the oil money it is not a problem. With temperatures hovering at 55 degrees Celsius for most of the year people seek indoor comfort and things to do. Hence, all the entertainment/activities they have indoors.
Went out for Indian food with Andrea and some of her colleagues ...dinner was great and so was the company. We got a little confused getting to the restaurant and ended up at a mall - did not think it was strange to be going to a mall cause as I said the Mall is where it is at! However, this particular restaurant has three locations and we were at the wrong one......oh well, we eventually made it and it was all good.
